Fortune City turns budgeting into a game; to move years of records to Futari and log together, a screenshot + ChatGPT turns them into a CSV — no subscription needed just to export.

Moving from Fortune City in three steps

  1. In Fortune City, open your entries and scroll down, screenshotting the transactions you want to move; the city view isn't needed (full how-to below).
  2. Turn the screenshots into a CSV with ChatGPT. Dates, amounts and categories come across as shown; your city progress in the game doesn't go into the CSV.
  3. Upload the CSV here and preview it; if it looks right, create an account and carry these records into your shared ledger.

If your old app has no CSV export, you can screenshot your records and have ChatGPT turn them into a CSV to upload. The free ChatGPT plan works.

  1. In your old app, scroll your transaction list and take phone screenshots (5–10 is a good range to cover the period you want to move).
  2. Open ChatGPT, upload all the screenshots at once, and paste the prompt below.
  3. Copy the whole ```csv code block ChatGPT returns and save it as xxx.csv in any plain-text editor.
  4. Come back here, upload that csv, preview it, and create an account to finish the import.
Prompt to paste into ChatGPT
You are my bookkeeping data assistant. I will upload screenshots from a budgeting app. Please turn every transaction shown into CSV format.

Requirements:
- The first CSV row is the header: date,category,amount,description,currency,kind
- Use YYYY-MM-DD for date; if a screenshot only shows month/day (e.g. 5/30), assume the current year
- Use a positive integer for amount (no minus sign, no decimals); if it was shown as an expense or in red / with a minus sign, set kind to "expense"; if it was income or in green, set kind to "income"
- Keep the original category text from the screenshot (Chinese or English, as-is)
- Keep the merchant name or note text in description; leave it blank if there is none
- Use an ISO 4217 three-letter code for currency (TWD / USD / JPY / CNY…); default to TWD if the screenshot does not show one
- If the same transaction (same date + amount + description) appears across multiple screenshots, keep only one
- Output the CSV inside a single ```csv code block only, with no explanatory text before or after

Non-TWD rows import at their raw number first; you can adjust the conversion per row after import. The prompt asks ChatGPT to keep just one copy of any entry that appears twice (same date + amount + description); Futari doesn't remove duplicates on import, so import each file only once.

No rush — you can import the CSV from settings any time after you sign in.

Frequently asked

Doesn't Fortune City already have CSV export?
It does, but it's a subscription feature, and the official docs mention the export can open garbled in Excel and need re-encoding. Without a subscription, the screenshot-plus-ChatGPT flow below works just as well.
How do I check I haven't missed anything?
After uploading, the preview lists the row count, date range and most common categories. Compare them with what you see in Fortune City, and if a stretch is missing, screenshot just that part and run it through again.
Fortune City shows a lot of subscription pop-ups. Does Futari?
No. Futari has no ads and no unlock pop-ups in the middle of what you're doing, and import is free too.
Does my game progress come over too?
No — what moves is your bookkeeping data (date, amount, category); the game stays in the original app. Futari focuses on the shared ledger itself.
